NY Times: 7-Eleven Wants to Be More Than a ‘Blip’ on Consumers’ Radar

When it comes to real and imaginary road races and road trips, there are the Cannonball Run, the Gumball 3000, the Gumball Rally and the various vacations courtesy of National Lampoon. Now comes the 7-Eleven chain of convenience stores, teaming up with Blip.tv, which hosts and syndicates online video shows, to present the “7-Eleven Road Trip Rally.”


The 7-Eleven version will be a Web-based reality series, produced by Blip.tv, that will follow two teams across the country as they sustain themselves by buying provisions and gasoline only at — yes, you guessed it — 7-Eleven stores.
