7-Eleven® stores' popular Operation Chill program rewards positive behavior with a cool treat - free Slurpee® drink coupons.Kids caught in the act of doing good will be "ticketed" by local law enforcement officers participating in Operation Chill this summer. "Offenses" may include deterring crime, acts of kindness like lending a helping hand to others or participating in a community program.
Nearly 10 million Operation Chill coupons have been distributed to hundreds of law enforcement agencies across the country since the program's inception in 1995. This year, approximately 800,000 Slurpee drink coupons will be issued, most during the summer and back-to-school seasons.
"This program is a big hit with law enforcement agencies and kids," said Mike Raymond, director of 7-Eleven loss prevention. Raymond said that police departments begin contacting 7-Eleven early each year to sign up for the annual program.
More than a half-million Slurpee drinks are purchased daily during summer months at 7-Eleven stores. With the implementation of Operation Chill across the country, Raymond says he hopes to see a great deal of good behavior from kids in communities.
Giving Slurpees to the community doesn't that sound like a fun job to have!
