Fort Worth 7-Eleven® Employee Named "Best of" in Customer Service for 2009

When was the last time you took your favorite convenience store sales associate flowers or gave them a card for their birthday? It's not uncommon for Certified Sales Associate Cheryl Gay's customers to do things like this for her. A self-proclaimed people person, 7-Eleven store employee received the critic's choice award for providing the best customer service in the city by Fort Worth Weekly Magazine in their "Best of 2009" issue.

"I'm a people person, and to me everyone is a special gift," she says, which is probably why her rapport with customers has not gone unnoticed.

"Being recognized by the community is especially meaningful to me because we are a neighborhood store that has transitioned from corporate to a franchise ownership," she said. "A lot about the business has changed, but everything about how we treat our customers has been the same."

Cheryl was handpicked by Fort Worth Weekly editors who received thousands of recommendations for customer service standouts throughout the city.

Check out what the magazine had to say about her:

We've all seen the derelicts who work at some convenience stores -- the ones with unlit cigarette hanging from their mouths, silently scowling at your for having the audacity to come to the counter when they were just about to go on a smoke break. The complete opposite of that is Cheryl Gay. Anyone who has ever been more than once at the 7-Eleven(r) store at Forest Park and Park Hill knows her name. Always smiling and never without a kind word, Cheryl is the kind of person whom giant franchises put on their marketing material to brag about their happy employees. She'll brighten your day for sure.
