Red Bull Racing Gives 7-Eleven Wings

Just as Red Bull claims to "give you wings," two Red Bull Racing (RBR) cars flew around the Formula 1 (F1) race track sporting the 7-Eleven logo® during the F1 Singapore Grand Prix last weekend. It was the first time the 7-Eleven® logo had appeared on a RBR vehicle during a F1 race in Singapore.

Both RBR cars raced with an Indycar-esque look as they ran 7-Eleven branding on the side panels of each car during the F1 race on Sunday, Sept. 27, in the Southeast Asian nation of Singapore. RBR employed a similar marketing practice during the F1 race in Japan 2008.

"We created history in Singapore by having the 7-Eleven logo on the cars during the race," said Tan Siew Shuen, Marketing Manager, 7-Eleven Singapore. "I understand the RBR cars also will sport the 7-Eleven logo during the F1 Japanese Grand Prix this Sunday, Oct. 4," she said.

Shuen says the placement of the 7-Eleven logo on RBR cars is timely. Stand-alone 7-Eleven stores in Singapore currently have what is described as an "exciting" and "aggressive" in-store promotion in which customers can win exclusive RBR racing premiums with each $5 purchase. 7-Eleven chains are the largest convenience store chain in Singapore.

RBR drivers Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber competed in the F1 Singapore Grand Prix, with Vettel driving to a top five finish.

RBR Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix results:

Car 15: Driver Sebastian Vettel, Finish Position: 4th, Start Position: 2nd

Car 14: Driver Mark Webber*, Finish Position: DNF, Start Position: 4th
*Webber encountered a suspected brake disk failure and was unable to finish the race.
