The commercial, which began airing this week, follows DePinto to work at the Dallas (Texas) 7-Eleven Store Support Center as he talks about how his West Point and military experience helped paved the way to his success. As an officer, DePinto learned about teamwork & selfless service – philosophies he’s worked to instill at 7-Eleven.
The officership program is for individuals who want to pursue a college degree or for those who already have one. The commercial promotes the program and how it can pave a path to lifelong success. In it, DePinto says success takes “leadership and a long view, a belief in yourself and the ability to inspire others.”
“Selecting Joe was a natural fit because of his reputation for leadership in the Army and at 7-Eleven,” said a spokesman from the Army Officership Program. “We liked the idea of being able to say he was a former Army officer and currently the CEO of a major, well-known company.”
DePinto’s commercial is one of several the Army plans to release as part of a new campaign to recruit 22,000 officer candidates over the next three years.
